NIU Jun
is Professor at the School of International Studies of Peking University. He was born in Chongqing in 1954. He received his Ph.D. from the People's University in 1988. Professor Niu served as Senior Fellow and Chief of Division of American Diplomacy at the Institute of American Studies, CASS from 1990 to 2000; Professor at the Remin University.
His academic interest lies in the fields of China's foreign policy making since 1949, and US foreign policy and Sino-US relations. His main publications include: From Yan’an to the World: The Origin and Development of Chinese Communist foreign Policy, (Norwalk: East bridge, 2005); Towards a History of Chinese Communist Foreign Relations (1920s-1960s), and Lengzhan yu zhongguo (The Cold War and China, co-edited with Zahng Baijia, Beijing: Shijie zhishi Press, 2002). The courses he teaches at Peking University including “Analysis of China's Foreign Policies Making,” and “Foreign Relations of Peoples Republic of China since 1949.”
